Know your body type:

Haven’t we all been in scenarios where we've tried trends that have never flattered us,
irrespective of how keen we have been to try them? Well, the first rule to discovering
YOUR personal style is to understand your body type. Accentuate the areas that you love
the best, and avoid drawing unnecessary attention to areas that don’t flatter your body.
Trends don't matter if they don't suit you AND trends surely don't define personal style.

Invest in the Basics:

Every wardrobe demands a strong foundation. Basics are like the nuts and bolts to ones
Personal Style. They are the bones to your wardrobe and these key pieces go with any and
every outfit that you could possibly imagine. A perfectly fitted pair of blue jeans, a black
blazer, a white/black tee and a few other neutral pieces will serve you incredibly well. Its a
look that you can create with such a simple amalgamation; and it would never go outdated!

Shop in your own closet, instead of investing in TRENDS:

I cannot recollect the number of times when I have harrowed through my own closet to
salvage a few pieces that I absolutely forgot I owned, let alone even existed! There are
inevitable ways to create a perfect harmony with the pieces you already own, without
investing anything into the same. Be creative, be smart - look at your old standbys in
new and innovative ways! You dont have to invest in a certain trend to look stylish, when
you can create a trend and OWN it.

SPLURGE, when necessary:

A splurge is something that can be defined by YOU, and you alone. A little bit of luxe is
only going to keep you and your closet balanced. But hey, when I say splurge, Im not
asking you to go all out! Always have a budgeting plan for certain items. The trick is to
invest in something that you can cherish for long. For example, its absolutely okay to
spend a fortune on a well-made handbag or on a pair of designer shoes that would last
really long. At the end of your spend-spree, you should be happy about what you
invested in.

Believe it or not, a well dressed individual always tells a story. At the same time, having
knowledge about what you wear, what you invest in; about your clothes in general, is
crucial. In the end, its YOUR style that represents who you are, and its a win-win, when its
done correctly!
